Little Sun Pre-Primary: Laying the Foundation – Lifting Dreams
Date Submitted: 25/07/2025
As August approaches, bringing the bustle of a new school year, the Little Sun children are also closing a special chapter — the "Pre-Primary 2025" program — with excitement and anticipation.
Throughout the six weeks of summer 2025, the students were thoroughly prepared to step confidently into Grade 1. From the very first days, any initial shyness quickly melted away thanks to engaging circle times, team-building games, and interactive group activities. These early moments sparked new friendships and gave students the courage to step beyond their comfort zones and connect with new classmates and teachers.
Every lesson in the Little Sun class was designed to gently introduce students to the primary school environment and learning style — from practicing handwriting strokes and developing correct sitting posture to building focus and patience when completing tasks. Though these first steps were challenging, daily practice gradually refined their pencil control, extended their attention spans, and fostered greater awareness of classroom routines and self-discipline.
During handwriting sessions, students also practiced maintaining proper posture to prevent common school-related health issues.
The students were also introduced to Math and Science — two key subjects that play a crucial role in developing logical thinking. In Math, they didn’t just learn numbers and basic operations, but also applied what they had learned in real-life situations during a field trip to Go Supermarket. With the main task of creating the most unique donuts, the children had to shop for ingredients, calculate expenses, and plan their baking materials before decorating and enjoying their colorful creations together.
The trip to Go Supermarket provided an opportunity for Little Sun students to apply Math in a real-world context.

In Science, the children were treated to hands-on, fascinating experiences. At the Labroom, they explored the magical properties of nitrogen gas, conducted experiments, and observed how nitrogen can be used to create amazing effects. These sessions made scientific concepts come alive in a way that was easy to grasp, while also fostering curiosity and encouraging students to observe and ask questions about the world around them.

Alongside academic activities, Little Sun students were encouraged to build physical strength and confidence through regular swimming lessons — a perfect way to stay active and refreshed during Da Nang’s summer heat, while also preparing for the new school environment.
They were also equipped with essential life skills such as identifying danger, protecting themselves, and handling situations when no adults are around. These lessons fostered a greater sense of independence and awareness in everyday life.

Beyond academics and physical development, field trips played a vital role in nurturing emotional awareness and aesthetic appreciation. Each trip was carefully designed to offer students a well-rounded, joyful learning experience.
