[Middle School] Shine eloquence at the Olympia Debate Contest 2024 for middle students

On the afternoon of November 22, 2024, the PE room of Sakura-Olympia school became more exciting than ever with fierce competitions of "young orators" at the challenging and inspiring Debate Contest. With the participation of students from grades 5 to 8 of The Olympia Primary, Middle, and High Schools, the contest is not only a place for students to demonstrate their debate skills but also a journey to explore thinking, arousing passion for creativity and training of bravery.
Ideas are inspired by practical topics
The competition takes place over three rounds with three motions that are challenging but also very close to student life: from the importance of group work compared to individual work, the right of students to participate in choosing subjects, to increasing time for subjects Creativity like art and music.
Each team brought strong arguments, convincing evidence, and incredible presentation skills. The competition atmosphere heats up every minute, as teams not only convince the judges but also challenge their opponents with excellent critical questions. From the confidence of grade 8 to the surprising creativity of grade 5, each competition left a deep impression.
Debate is the art of listening and understanding
More than just a competition, the Debate Competition is also an educational playground, where each student can listen, express their opinions, and learn to accept different perspectives. Valuable skills such as independent thinking, confident communication, and teamwork were demonstrated by the students through each debate.
The PE room that day was not only where the competition took place but also connected hearts that love to learn, where every idea and every voice is respected and recognized.
Playground The Debate of the 2024-2025 school year ended with memorable moments, but its echoes will certainly linger for a long time. The students have proven that no matter their age, independent thinking, and debate ability can become the power to make a difference.
