On August 20, 2024, Olympia Primary, Secondary, and High School organized a fire prevention and rescue training session for Primary and Secondary students. This is an important activity to equip students with the necessary skills to protect themselves and the community when facing danger.

Olympia Primary & Secondary School students participate in fire prevention and rescue training

Under the professional guidance of Lieutenant Cao Quang Vinh From the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Hai Chau District Police, the training session brought you a lot of important practical knowledge and skills. In particular, the content conveyed does not stop at theory but is also combined with practice, helping students learn more effectively.

The training session was led by Lieutenant Tao Quang Vinh - Officer of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Hai Chau District Police

Important skills to help students be ready to deal with emergency situations that Senior Lieutenant Tao Quang Vinh brings include:

- Fire escape skills: Students are instructed to crouch low to avoid smoke and cover their noses with a damp towel to filter the air. This is an important skill to help minimize the risk of inhaling toxic fumes in fire and explosion situations.

Students are instructed to take notes when escaping to ensure their safety

- How to use a fire extinguisher: You learn how to use a fire extinguisher properly to extinguish small fires as soon as they arise, preventing them from spreading and becoming more dangerous.

Students learn how to use fire extinguishers

- Rescue skills: Students are instructed how to move victims in emergency situations, along with basic first aid methods to support victims before professional forces arrive.

Assist in moving victims

- Escape practice: Students participate in fire escape practice under the guidance of the teacher, taking the correct steps such as crouching, covering their mouth and moving along the emergency exit when hearing the fire alarm.

The training session left a strong impression and helped you gain a deeper insight into the importance of careful psychological preparation and skills in dangerous situations. Thanks to this knowledge and practical experience, Olympia students will be more confident in dealing with emergency situations, thereby ensuring their own safety and contributing to building a safe community.
