Week without Walls 2024-2025: When lessons go beyond the pages of books
Date Submitted: 11/04/2025
No white chalkboards, no neat desks and chairs, but "Classrooms without walls". Olympia Primary, Middle and High School still brings endless learning inspiration to students in primary and secondary grades. In these special classes, each student steps out of familiar boundaries, touches reality and deeply feels what they have learned.
These are not just field trips, but a journey to explore the world, where each experience becomes a living lesson, each destination is a new chapter in the children's book of adulthood. With the spirit of "unlimited learning", Week without Walls helps students:
- Explore the real world through super interesting field trips;
- Develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking;
- Strengthen connection with the community, expand social perspectives;
- Awaken creative passion, because learning is not limited to four walls.
Starting this series of extremely exciting journeys are the "little nutrition experts" of Earth class with the challenge of Cambridge Science at Go supermarket. Here, children try their skills at being nutrition detectives, walking around the supermarket hunting for products belonging to each important nutrient group. Coming to the nutritional cart race challenge, you need to plan, balance your budget, and choose "healthy & balanced" foods for a perfect meal.
Through class, students master knowledge about nutrition and health, and practice time and budget management skills when shopping. Thanks to that, you are not only your own nutrition expert but can also "advise" the whole family on a scientific, nutritious meal!

The "Classroom Without Walls" bus continues to roll, taking Sun 2 class members back in time to explore past vehicles. At the Military Region 5 Museum, the children had an interesting English Cambridge lesson with Ms. Marishka.
The historic space here provides an immersive learning experience where you can expand your English vocabulary about antique vehicles and practice language reflexes through engaging challenges such as "Race to the Right Vehicle" — find the right vehicle according to the English description and "Draw & Describe" — draw and describe your favorite vehicle. Classes not only help you hone your observation and critical thinking skills but also encourage natural and exciting English communication.

No blackboards, no white chalk, no neat tables and chairs, But My Khe beach still offers an inspiring "classroom without walls" space. Under the guidance of Ms. Marishka, Sun 1 class explores how the senses blend with nature, expands English vocabulary related to sensory perceptions and develops observation skills and sensory awareness through each wave, breeze or step on white sand.
"Beach Fun: Find, Create, & Splash!" challenges make the lesson more exciting. The children eagerly searched for natural treasures — seashells, seaweed, pebbles — and then created spontaneous sand works together. Crisp laughter rang out in the race to fill a bucket of seawater, where all limits disappeared with each wave. Sun 1 had such a brilliant and explosive class!

After the museum, beach, and supermarket, "Classroom without walls" continues to transform into a Library with soaring bookshelves and the faint smell of fragrant paper - an ideal space to discover the beauty of Vietnamese and enter the magical world of meaningful stories and poems.
Under the guidance of the teacher and librarian of the Da Nang General Science Library, the "little readers" worked together to:
- Visit the library and listen to stories about school topics.
- Practice making sentences based on keywords about school topics. The children's sentences are simple but also full of sincerity, like their clear emotions.
- Get familiar with the public library space, practice social skills such as keeping quiet when in the library, knowing how to appreciate and preserve books, and sow the seeds of a love of reading.

It is impossible not to mention the unique trip to Hybrid Billiards of members of the Mars class and the Middle School class. Here, you learned a lot of valuable knowledge and discovered the beauty of a once aristocratic sport:
- Application of mathematical theory: Angles and spatial geometry are visualized through the game "Predict the Path". You both calculate and verify with actual shots, turning the billiards table into a unique study table.
- Science of motion: Propulsion, friction, and spinning ball trajectory are decoded through the "Spin & Friction Demo", when players take turns testing topspin, backspin and sidespin techniques.
- Speed & Power Test: "Power of a Stroke" helps you measure the distance the ball rolls at different speeds, analyzing the relationship between impact force and distance traveled.
- Independent thinking & Strategy: From initial experiments, you need to predict and discuss with each other to choose the most optimal shot for the "Best Shot Strategy" challenge.
- Besides, it is impossible not to mention the valuable knowledge about billiards history and culture through the activity of learning about billiards through each period and the honest and noble sports spirit through the role-playing activity "Billiards Code of Conduct" - discussing good behavior in sports.

With the lesson "Tiny Budget" taking place at Go Supermarket, Mercury 2 class children participated in the "Product Hunt" challenge, searching for items according to the assigned list. After that, you also show off your "Quick Calculation - Good Buying" skills, considering and deciding which products to buy so as not to exceed the specified budget. Numbers are no longer dry, but have become a companion, helping Mercury 2 children "spend smart" and practice math skills in real life.

The journey of "Beyond Classroom" continued with a special Vietnamese lesson by Venus Class, held in the lush green space of Sơn Trà Tịnh Viên. Surrounded by a sanctuary of rare bamboo species, dense groves, and tranquil ponds reminiscent of the traditional Vietnamese countryside, the students listened to the quiet whispers of nature telling stories about the beauty of their homeland.
In the activity “Vietnam in Me,” the students eagerly explored vocabulary related to nature, culture, and the Vietnamese people. They then poured their emotions into heartfelt expressions in the segment “Words from the Heart.” Each sentence—whether declarative or imperative—was filled with pride and love for their homeland, simple yet profound. These sentiments were vividly illustrated through creative artworks on the theme “The Beauty of Vietnam.”
This lesson served as a gentle reminder: Vietnamese is not just about words and letters—it is a bridge that connects young minds to the beauty of their roots. “Beyond Classroom” once again offered a meaningful learning experience, where nature becomes the teacher and each child a true language explorer.

Students from Grades 6, 7, and 8 had another exciting History and Geography lesson at the Hoàng Sa Exhibition House. Here, historical and geographical knowledge came alive through artifacts, documents, and treasured heritage items. Each artifact carried its own story, waiting to be uncovered by these young explorers. Through the guide’s insightful storytelling, pieces of the past slowly fell into place, painting a vivid picture of history in the students’ minds. Beyond textbook learning, this field trip provided an opportunity to develop observation skills, teamwork, and creative thinking in decoding historical information.
The trip brought students closer to the past, instilling a sense of national pride and igniting their passion for knowledge.

Lastly, Sun 2 Class concluded their “Beyond Classroom” journey with a visit to the Đà Nẵng Museum—a cultural and historical landmark commemorating 50 years of the city’s liberation. More than a simple extracurricular outing, the trip offered students a broader perspective and the chance to hear stories about the history, geography, and development journey of this "livable city." Featuring nearly 3,000 valuable artifacts and documents selected from over 27,000 sources, combined with advanced multimedia technologies like 3D films and interactive 3D Mapping, the museum’s exhibits delivered an engaging and emotionally rich educational experience.

Each trip was not only a special lesson, but also a piece of Olympia’s holistic education mosaic. The students returned not only with new knowledge but also with skills in observation, inquiry, and the ability to connect classroom lessons to real-life experiences. For true education is a journey of expanding horizons—where the most meaningful lessons are not always found in books, but revealed in every road, every wave, and every tree.
