Date Submitted: 13/01/2026
Sport Day is a signature annual activity that embodies Olympia’s educational identity, with a focus on Health – one of the three core values of Sakura – Olympia: “Ethics – Health – Knowledge.” The program not only offers students an exciting and wholesome physical playground but also serves as an opportunity for families and the school to walk alongside one another, connect, and share meaningful moments.
Through a wide range of sports activities, Sport Day 2026 encourages students to develop regular physical exercise habits, nurture a spirit of honesty and perseverance in sportsmanship, and strengthen cooperation skills – essential competencies for a well-rounded developmental journey. 2. SPORTS ACTIVITIES AT SPORT DAY 2026
2.1. Football with Oversized Pants
Participants: Primary School students and their parents
How to play:
Each match consists of two teams competing against each other, with each team made up of 4–6 pairs (each pair includes one student and one parent). Students and parents wear oversized pants, move together, and coordinate with other team members to bring the ball into the opposing team’s goal. The front player controls the ball, while the back player supports by adjusting the pants. The ball must be kicked using the feet and may not be handled by hand (except for the goalkeeper). Each goal counts as one point and is recorded when the ball fully crosses the opponent’s goal line. Teams may substitute players during halftime or when the ball goes out of play, but substitutions are not allowed while the ball is in play.
Format: Two halves per match, each lasting 10 minutes. Four teams compete in a total of 12 knockout matches with single elimination. Halftime breaks last from 3 to 5 minutes.

2.2. Basketball
Participants: Middle School students
Teams compete by age group:
- Group 1: Grade 6 and Grade 7
- Group 2: Grade 8 and Grade 9
Competition format: Single-elimination knockout with 4 teams per group
How to play:
- Format: Timed game combined with point scoring. Each match is played to 16 points and divided into two halves, with each half lasting 5 minutes.
- The game clock runs continuously (running clock) and stops only when time expires, in the event of injury, or upon instruction from the head referee.
- Scoring: 1 point (inside the arc) and 2 points (outside the arc) in accordance with FIBA 3x3 rules.
- Halftime break: 2 minutes.
- Win condition: The team that reaches 16 points first or has the higher score when time expires.
- Tie-breaker: Each team shoots three free throws. If the tie remains, teams continue with one free throw each until a point difference is achieved within a single round of shots.
Match schedule:
Match 1 (08:00–08:15): Group 1 – Match 1
Match 2 (08:15–08:30): Group 1 – Match 2
Match 3 (08:30–08:45): Group 2 – Match 1

Competition format: Teams compete in a single-elimination format (drawn or paired). Each match lasts approximately 30–45 minutes, with a 5-minute break between matches. There are a total of four matches:
- Semifinal 1: Team 1 vs. Team 4
- Semifinal 2: Team 2 vs. Team 3
- Third-place match: Loser of Semifinal 1 vs. Loser of Semifinal 2
- Final: Winner of Semifinal 1 vs. Winner of Semifinal 2

2.4. Karatedo Experience – Ultimate Striking Techniques
This activity is organized and facilitated by High School students, offering engaging karatedo experiences for younger participants.
Rules: Parents inflate the balloon at the starting line. The student then carries the balloon, runs to the target area to attach it, and uses a punch or kick to burst the balloon, before running back to the starting line to retrieve the second balloon and repeat the process.
Note: Punches and kicks must be alternated. Students who successfully perform one punch and one kick to burst the balloons may choose one reward.

2.5. Family Run
Participants: Primary and Middle School students and their parents
Race categories:
50m free run: For Primary School students
100m free run: For Middle School students
400m sprint: For Grade 1–2 students and parents
