In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), and at the same time providing a playground to help students express their talent and passion for reading, while also spreading reading inspiration to the community, Sakura-Olympia School would like to organize the Super Reader contest for primary and middle school students in Da Nang. The contest is also an opportunity for students to improve their confidence, presentation skills, and public speaking abilities through online and offline competition rounds.

The 10 contestants with the highest scores in round 01 will continue to participate in round 02 - the final round at the school.

Round 2: Let the books touch my heart

Format: Offline

13h15 – 16h00 19th April 2024

Location: PE room at Sakura - Olympia school (63 Le Van Long, Hai Chau, Da Nang)

2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE & SCORING CRITERIA

2.1. Round 1 (online) “Book station”

2.1.1. How to participate:

Step 01: Students record a video introducing their favorite book in English or Vietnamese in 3-5 minutes. 

Step 02: Students and Parents upload contest entries to their personal Drive accounts, set access rights and fill in information in the Registration form to participate in the Super Reader contest for this school year from March 22nd  to April 4th, 2024.

Step 03: After receiving the videos from contestants, the school will post the videos on the Sakura Olympia School Fanpage on April 5, 2024.

Step 04: Parents and students share the videos in public mode (each account shares once) and call for interaction from the time of posting to 5:00 p.m. on April 11, 2024.

Requirements for round 1:

- Entry content is made by students. 

- Videos last 3-5 minutes, follow the theme of the contest, are appropriate and ensure image and sound quality.

- Videos do not violate Vietnamese customs and traditions and do not contain content that offends the honor, dignity, or privacy of any individual or organization.

- The organizing committee is not responsible for any disputes related to the ownership of content during and after the contest.

- The organizing committee has the right to use video for communication and brand promotion purposes without incurring any costs.

- The results provided by the organizing committee is the final decision. 

2.1.2. Criteria

- Video scores are calculated as follows: 50% * interaction score + 50% * professional score assessed by judges.

- In which each expression = 1 point, each share = 2 points (not counting fake likes and shares)

- The school will announce the results of the finalists (Top 10 candidates with the highest scores) on April 11th, 2024.

2.2. Round 2 (offline) “Let the books touch my heart”

The 10 contestants with the highest scores in round 1 will continue to participate in round 2 - the final round.

- Time: 13:14 – 16:00 April 19th, 2024

- Location: PE room at Sakura - Olympia school (63 Le Van Long, Hai Chau, Da Nang)

- Topic: Students choose and introduce the book (characters, content, lessons, impressive details...)

- Requirements: Presentation time for each candidate should not exceed 5 minutes

- Scoring criteria:

+ Appropriate topic and time: 10 points

+ Presentation content: 50 points

+ Presentation style: 20 points

+ Language and tone: 20 points
