[Primary & Middle School] CREATIVE SPRING FESTIVAL – TET 2026

[Primary & Middle School] CREATIVE SPRING FESTIVAL – TET 2026

Date Submitted: 04/02/2026

Each time Tet and spring arrive, Olympia Primary & Middle School organizes educational experiential activities to help students understand, appreciate, and value Vietnamese traditional culture. The Creative Spring Festival – Tet 2026 is designed as an open learning space that allows students to explore, practice, and create through hands-on activities closely connected to the Lunar New Year.

The Creative Spring Festival provides Olympia students with an engaging and accessible way to experience folk cultural values. Through real-life experiences, students not only gain a deeper understanding of traditional Tet but also develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, collaboration, and creative thinking.

At the Bánh Chưng Wrapping Booth, students learn about the origin and cultural significance of bánh chưng in Vietnamese Tet traditions while working in groups to wrap the cakes. This activity helps develop patience, dexterity, and teamwork.

The Tet Calligraphy Booth provides students with the opportunity to discover the beauty of traditional calligraphy. Guided by a calligrapher, students learn the meanings of different characters and practice basic calligraphy strokes.

At the Traditional Handicraft Booth, students experience crafting animal figures from air-dry clay, similar to the traditional tò he art form. This activity encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and appreciation for traditional handicrafts.

In addition, the Traditional Folk Games and Bamboo Dancing Areas, featuring activities such as ring toss, ô ăn quan, stilt walking, and bamboo pole dancing, create a lively atmosphere while helping students develop physical coordination, agility, and a strong sense of teamwork.

The Creative Spring Festival – Tet 2026 is not only a celebration but also a meaningful day of experiential learning. By thoughtfully combining tradition and creativity, the program supports students’ holistic development in cultural knowledge, life skills, and 21st-century competencies. It is also an opportunity for students to experience Tet, embody the spirit of Tet in a modern school environment, and creatively engage with traditional values. We believe this event will provide students with a joyful, enriching learning experience and create beautiful memories at the start of the new year.
