The Dual Diploma Preparatory Programme (D2P2) for Grades 9–10 is a strategic stage within the international integrated pathway at Sakura – Olympia.
This program prepares students with strong academic foundations, advanced English proficiency, interdisciplinary thinking, and research skills before progressing to higher-level international programs. It equips learners not only for academic success, but also for long-term global integration in a rapidly changing world.

1. MULTICULTURAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN DANANG

Sakura – Olympia fosters a dynamic English-speaking environment where students regularly communicate with international teachers and apply English in school events, competitions, festivals, and extracurricular activities.
The school community includes students and educators from the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Japan, South Korea, India, Costa Rica, and other countries. This multicultural setting helps students develop intercultural communication skills, respect for diversity, and a global mindset—essential qualities for international education in Da Nang and beyond.

3. DUAL DIPLOMA PREPARATORY PROGRAMME (D2P2)
3.1. Academic Structure of the D2P2
Academic English Foundation & Interdisciplinary Thinking
Five enhanced subjects taught in English by international teachers help students strengthen their English proficiency and interdisciplinary thinking skills: Mathematics, English (ESL), Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science.
Three Development Pillars and Six Global Contexts:
Learning experiences in the Dual Diploma Preparatory Programme are built around three core pillars:
- In-depth academic research
- Exploring the nature of knowledge through six global contexts
- Creativity, experiential learning, and community engagement activities
Through these learning approaches, students develop:
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Students are encouraged to ask questions, analyse data, and explore issues from multiple perspectives instead of simply following fixed models.
- Research & Essay Writing Skills: Through projects and inquiry-based learning activities, students develop information-processing skills, logical reasoning, and independent thinking.
- Interdisciplinary & Real-World Learning: Students learn to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to analyse real-world issues rather than studying subjects in isolation.
- Independent Learning & Adaptability: Students are encouraged to become proactive learners, manage their time effectively, and build long-term learning capacity.
Comprehensive Assessment Approach:
Assessment in the English-Enriched Pre-Dual Diploma Program goes beyond traditional examinations and includes:
- Continuous learning assessment
- Project-based and product-based evaluation (presentations, experiments, research projects)
- End-of-term examinations
This comprehensive assessment model reflects students’ competencies, critical thinking abilities, and application of knowledge while promoting confidence and proactive learning.
3.2. 21st Century Skills Development (4Cs)
The program emphasizes the development of the 4Cs: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity
Students strengthen these competencies through STEAM projects, Information Technology activities, experiential learning, field trips, school events, and after-school clubs. These essential skills prepare students to succeed in a fast-changing global environment.
3.3. Core Values: Ethics – Health – Knowledge
Ethics: Independence and Community Responsibility
Students cultivate independence, self-discipline, and healthy relationships with family, peers, and the wider community. Community projects and extracurricular activities nurture responsibility in both national and global contexts.
Health: Physical, Emotional, and Intellectual Well-being
Sports, arts, and music programs support physical fitness and emotional balance. A structured reading program fosters independent learning habits, critical thinking, and intellectual growth.
Knowledge: Academic Excellence and Future Pathways
Students gain comprehensive academic knowledge, practical problem-solving skills, and career orientation support. They are guided to identify personal strengths and interests, enabling informed future academic and career decisions.
