On the morning of August 3, 2026, the campus of Olympia Primary, Secondary & High School was filled with laughter and warm greetings as SOers returned to school after the summer break. From the very entrance, teachers and familiar friends welcomed students with bright smiles and heartfelt wishes for the new academic year. Warm hugs after a long vacation, conversations about summer adventures, and eager faces looking forward to a new journey created an energetic and heartwarming atmosphere on the very first day back. For every member of the Olympia community, Back to School is more than just the first day of classes—it marks the beginning of a new school year filled with opportunities to explore, experience, and grow. 

On August 3, 2026, the Sakura - Olympia campus warmly welcomed Primary, Middle, and High School students back after the summer break, officially launching the 2026–2027 academic year. 

The First Dreams for the New School Year 

Every SOer shared their goals and aspirations for the new school year. Some hoped to become more confident in communicating in English, while others set their sights on taking on new academic challenges. There were also heartfelt wishes as simple as, "I want to have lots of fun with my friends." Each little note represented a promise students made to themselves—the first step in a learning journey shaped by their own dreams, strengths, and aspirations.

These aspirations also reflect the spirit Olympia embraces for the new academic year: encouraging every student to set meaningful goals, actively discover their strengths, and build a learning journey that is uniquely their own. 

Embarking on a School Year of "Empowering Knowledge – Personalizing the Learning Journey" 

During the opening ceremony, students, parents, and teachers gathered to reflect on the journey behind them while looking ahead with excitement and anticipation for the year to come. 

At the event, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Tuyết, Principal of Olympia Primary, Secondary & High School, officially announced the 2026–2027 school year theme: "Empowering Knowledge – Personalizing the Learning Journey."

The theme reflects Olympia's educational philosophy: students are encouraged not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop independent learning habits, critical thinking skills, and the confidence to shape a learning pathway that aligns with their individual strengths, interests, and aspirations. Throughout this journey, the school remains a dedicated companion, fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student is respected for their uniqueness and empowered to reach their fullest potential. 

Learning Begins Through Experience 

Following the opening ceremony, the Olympia campus transformed into an open learning space where students took part in a series of hands-on workshops designed to inspire curiosity and exploration. 

Students rotated between the Robotics Workshop and the Ecosystem Planting Workshop, while also enjoying activities such as reading, creative drawing, and outdoor games. Each experience encouraged them to observe, collaborate, solve problems, and learn through active participation. 

Students enthusiastically kicked off the day at the Robotics Workshop. 

The young plants in the Ecosystem Planting Workshop symbolized the dreams and aspirations of SOers, ready to grow throughout the new school year.

More than simply welcoming students back to school, these workshops were designed to spark curiosity, nurture a spirit of exploration, and cultivate a genuine love of learning—essential qualities that empower every SOer to embark confidently on their journey of knowledge in the new academic year. 

A New Chapter Begins 

As the outdoor activities came to a close, SOers returned to their classrooms to meet their homeroom teachers, get to know new classmates, and share their goals and aspirations for the year ahead. 

The first day ended with smiles, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. More importantly, it marked the beginning of a new chapter—one in which every student will continue to discover their strengths, develop their potential, and write their own unique story of growth. 

We wish all SOers an inspiring and successful 2026–2027 school year, filled with confidence, a passion for lifelong learning, and the courage to reach new heights on their educational journey.
