[Primary & Middle School] OLYMPIA STEM DAY 2026: DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF SCIENCE

[Primary & Middle School] OLYMPIA STEM DAY 2026: DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF SCIENCE

Date Submitted: 28/03/2026

As one of the flagship educational events of the Sakura – Olympia school system, STEM Day offers a joyful academic playground where students immerse themselves in exciting science experiments, build models, program robots, and experience advanced technology. Through these activities, students not only gain a clearer understanding of how science works but are also inspired to think creatively and apply their knowledge in real-life contexts.

With the theme “Olympia Academy of Magic – Discovering the Magic of Science,” STEM Day 2026, inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, created a unique and immersive experience. From the very beginning, a sense of excitement filled the atmosphere as young “wizards” embarked on a new journey of scientific discovery. These magical phenomena opened up a different approach to learning, where science became engaging, accessible, and far from dry or abstract.

STEM Day 2026 took place on March 28, 2026, under the theme “Olympia Academy of Magic – Discovering the Magic of Science,” inspired by the enchanting world of Harry Potter.

“THE GRAND MAGIC LESSON” – AN IMPRESSIVE SCIENCE SHOW

The science performances on the main stage created many “wow” moments for students. Surprising reactions, vivid visual effects, and engaging presentations by teachers sparked curiosity and helped students realize that behind every “magic trick” lies fascinating scientific principles.

The program began with Potions Class, featuring experiments with color-changing solutions and explosive foam.

This was followed by Defense Against the Dark Arts, with an electric shield that made hair stand on end.

Next was Charms Class, where a “spell” changed voices into amusing high-pitched, chipmunk-like sounds.

In Transfiguration Class, two complex experiments—freezing transformation and shrinking—captivated students with their magical mist effects.

Finally, Care of Magical Creatures Class introduced mechanical “creatures” capable of movement.

LEARNING THROUGH DISCOVERY IN “MAGIC CLASSES”

Following the performances, students participated in hands-on experience stations in small groups. Here, they directly experimented, observed, and found explanations for the phenomena they had just discovered. Continuous interaction and real-life experiences made learning more engaging and effective.

Potions Class allowed students to explore the bubbling reaction in the Elephant Toothpaste experiment and understand the color-changing principles using red cabbage indicator.

Students eagerly experienced the “electric shield” that made their hair stand on end, as well as the “fire hand” magic in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Herbology Class attracted many students to make ice cream using salt and ice.

The experience of controlling mechanical “creatures” in Care of Magical Creatures Class was not to be missed.

Arithmancy Class offered logical games that challenged students’ thinking, while also exciting parents who joined in.

Muggle Studies Class engaged both parents and students in observing and assembling human-made technological devices.

STUDENTS – THE CENTER OF THE EXPERIENCE

At Olympia STEM Day, students were not just observers but active participants in the learning process. They asked questions, experimented, and collaborated with peers to explore. Curious eyes, delighted smiles, and focused engagement created many memorable moments throughout the event.

Through STEM activities, students developed critical thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity. Learning through real-life experiences not only deepened their understanding but also nurtured a lasting passion for learning. This reflects Sakura – Olympia’s educational philosophy of fostering holistic student development.

STEM Day 2026 was not only a playground for students but also an opportunity for parents to accompany their children in the learning journey. By observing and participating, parents gained a deeper understanding of Sakura – Olympia’s approach—where students are encouraged to explore, create, and develop their individual potential.

We sincerely thank all parents and students for their enthusiastic participation in STEM Day 2026.

Sakura – Olympia would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our students, parents, teachers, and organizing team for contributing to a meaningful and successful STEM Day.

“Magic” is, in fact, science being discovered. Olympia STEM Day 2026 demonstrated that STEM is not just knowledge, but an experiential journey that helps students understand the world in a deeper and more engaging way. Building on this experience, Sakura – Olympia looks forward to continuing to create innovative learning opportunities, nurturing confident, proactive students ready for global integration in the future.
