[Primary & Middle School] READ STATION 2026: BOOK WEEK & SUPER READER 2026

In celebration of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), throughout April 2026 with the theme “Books and Friends”, Olympia Primary, Middle & High School is launching a series of reading promotion activities. These initiatives aim to nurture students’ reading habits, develop independent thinking and creativity, and provide opportunities for students to express their personal perspectives while spreading the value of reading within the community.

DETAILED INFORMATION ON READING ACTIVITIES & COMPETITIONS IN APRIL 2026
1. READING AT SCHOOL
Target participants: Olympia Primary & Middle School students
Time: From April 1 to April 29, 2026
Throughout April 2026, Olympia organizes designated reading time slots. In particular, from 07:45 to 08:00, all classes maintain a daily morning reading routine. Students can read books at various locations around the school, such as classrooms, the library, or outdoor areas on campus.
2. 14-DAY PARENT-CHILD READING CHALLENGE (AT-HOME READING ACTIVITY)
Target participants: Olympia parents and students (teachers and staff are encouraged to participate with their children)
Time: From April 3 to April 12, 2026
The “14-Day Parent-Child Reading Challenge” is designed to strengthen the bond between parents and children through shared reading experiences:
- Parents download the 14-day reading challenge form and create a reading schedule that suits their family.
- Take photos to register participation by class and update daily progress following the provided guidelines.
- Complete assigned tasks and submit reading activity photos to the homeroom teacher.
3. READING CHALLENGES
Target participants: Olympia Primary & Middle School students
April 3, 2026 (Friday): Golden Bell Challenge. Students answer book-related questions in both English and Vietnamese, appropriate to their age level, using mini whiteboards.
April 10, 2026 (Friday): Students participate in creative challenges such as bookmark drawing, book title guessing, and book matching activities tailored to different age groups.
For each completed activity, students will receive a lucky draw ticket to be used at the Super Reader 2026 Final (April 20, 2026). Students who collect two tickets will be eligible to participate in the prize draw.
4. SUPER READER 2026 COMPETITION
4.1. General Information
Target participants: Olympia Primary & Middle School students
Timeline:
- April 1 – April 8, 2026: Round 1 submission period
- April 9 – April 13, 2026: Online voting for Round 1
- April 20, 2026: Round 2 (Final) & announcement of results and awards
4.2. Participation Guidelines and Regulations
Round 1 (April 1 – April 8): Online Round – “Introduce Your Favorite Book”
Students create a video (3–5 minutes) introducing their favorite book in either English or Vietnamese.
After completing the video, students and parents must submit the registration form via the Super Reader 2026 Registration Link.
Submission time: from 00:00 on April 1, 2026 to 23:59 on April 8, 2026.
All entries will be posted on the Sakura Olympia School Fanpage on April 9, 2026 for parents and students to participate in voting.
Parents/participants are encouraged to engage and share the entries. The interaction and voting period will be counted from the time of posting until 11:00 AM on April 13, 2026. Any interactions after this deadline will not be counted. The Organizing Committee’s decision is final.
Scoring criteria: 50% engagement score + 50% judges’ evaluation
Submission requirements:
- The content must be independently created by the student.
- Video duration: 3–5 minutes.
- The video must have clear visuals and audio quality.
- For online voting: Each account is allowed to share only once in public mode with the hashtags #SuperReader2026 #SakuraOlympia. Shares without hashtags will be considered invalid and will not be counted.
- Each like = 1 point; each share = 3 points. Voting accounts must be authentic; fake interactions will not be counted. Entries showing signs of violation will be flagged and disqualified from the online voting score.
Round 2 (April 20, 2026): Live Final Round
Theme: “Books and Life”
Time: 08:00 – 09:30, Monday, April 20, 2026
Location: Sakura – Olympia School Campus
Time per performance: 3–5 minutes
Top finalists will compete in the Final Round under the theme “Books and Life.” In this round, students will present inspiring books and demonstrate their real-life applications. They are encouraged to creatively present through formats such as presentations, storytelling, performances, or practical demonstrations. This is an opportunity for students to showcase their thinking, confidence, and individuality.
Results and awards will be announced and presented on the same day of the Final Round.
Evaluation criteria:
- Content and script quality (meaningful, relevant to the book, clear message): up to 30 points
- Presentation/performance skills (voice, emotion, confidence, interaction): up to 20 points
- Props and costumes (relevance, investment, aesthetics): up to 10 points
- Time management (compliance and effective allocation): up to 10 points
- Creativity (original ideas, unique presentation): up to 20 points
- Overall impact (engagement, emotional delivery, lasting message): up to 10 points
4.3. Super Reader 2026 Awards
- 01 First Prize: Super Reader Trophy + VND 2,000,000 voucher for Summer Camp 1 + VND 200,000 book voucher + Certificate
- 01 Second Prize: Super Reader Medal + VND 1,000,000 voucher for Summer Camp 1 + VND 100,000 book voucher + Certificate
- 01 Third Prize: Super Reader Medal + Certificate + Gift
- 02 Encouragement Prizes: Super Reader Medal + Certificate
- 01 Most Favorite Entry Award: Super Reader Medal + Certificate + VND 300,000 book voucher
5. READING PRODUCT EXHIBITION
From April 1 to April 12, 2026: Classes will create reading-related products (bookmarks, book-themed drawings, book models, book cover designs, book reviews, etc.) under the guidance of teachers.
From April 13 to April 21, 2026: Students’ reading products will be exhibited on the school campus.
6. OTHER COMPETITIONS
6.1. “Avid Readers” Contest
Time: March 15 – April 15, 2026
The “Avid Readers” Contest is co-organized by Hadosa Bookstore and Kim Dong Publishing House. It is conducted in an online format, encouraging students to enhance reading comprehension and retention through a system of multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: 20 minutes, including 20 multiple-choice questions and 1 question predicting the number of participants.
- Each student may participate up to 3 times for their selected book. The Organizing Committee will take the highest score for award consideration.
6.2. School-level Round – Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2026
Time (School-level round): April – May 2026
Target participants: Olympia Primary & Middle School students
Competition content:
Question 1: Students choose 1 of the following 2 topics:
- Topic 1: Introduce a literary work that celebrates love for the homeland, national unity, and inspires aspirations for a prosperous and happy country.
- Topic 2: Write a passage honoring literary, historical, or local cultural works to foster national pride, promote the preservation of the purity of the Vietnamese language, and protect regional cultural identities; thereby affirming and spreading the traditional values of Vietnam and its people.
Question 2: Propose initiatives or solutions applying technology, artificial intelligence (AI), or social media to innovate reading methods and promote knowledge sharing.
Format:
- Written submission (typed or handwritten): maximum length of 5,000 words
- Video submission: duration from 5 to 10 minutes
COLLABORATION BETWEEN SCHOOL – FAMILY – STUDENTS
To ensure the success of these activities, the school encourages close collaboration from parents in:
- Accompanying their children in the “14-Day Reading Challenge”
- Supporting and reminding students to complete their Super Reader submissions on time
- Participating in voting according to the Organizing Committee’s guidelines
- Encouraging children to maintain daily reading habits
