[Sakura] Beginning-of-Year Parent Meeting 2026–2027: Connecting Through Love, Growing Together
Date Submitted: 22/08/2026
On August 15, 2026, Sakura Kindergarten held the Beginning-of-Year Parent Meeting for the 2026–2027 school year, with the participation of the School Leadership Team, teachers, and parents.
More than an opportunity to receive important information ahead of the new school year, the meeting created a space for the School and families to share, listen, and align on how to support children. It also marked the beginning of a school year guided by the theme “Connecting Through Love,” emphasizing the connections among children, families, and teachers as a foundation for each child’s development.

CONNECTING THROUGH LOVE: A FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN’S DEVELOPMENT
In the early years, children grow not only through what they learn, but also through how they are loved, listened to, engaged with, and given opportunities to experience the world each day.
With the theme “Connecting Through Love,” Sakura aims to create an environment where children connect with their teachers, friends, and families through care, understanding, and meaningful support. Through these connections, children gain the confidence to explore the world, develop independence, and gradually build their individual strengths and abilities.
This was also the spirit shared by Ms. Phan Thi Thu Hang – Academic Coordinator of Sakura Kindergarten with parents during the “Preparing Children for the Journey Ahead” talk. This spirit is also reflected throughout Sakura’s educational directions and activities for the 2026–2027 school year.

CAMBRIDGE EARLY YEARS – LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE, DEVELOPING HOLISTICALLY
One of the key topics shared during the whole-school meeting was the Cambridge Early Years (CEY) program being implemented at Sakura.
CEY aims to build a strong foundation for children’s lifelong learning journey, going beyond knowledge acquisition to develop communication, exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Children learn through experiences, purposeful play, and interactive activities, supporting the development of multiple areas including language, mathematics, physical development, personal and social development, and creativity.
An important aspect of this approach is that every experience can become an opportunity for learning. When children connect with their teachers, friends, and the world around them, learning becomes more natural, engaging, and meaningful.

FROM SHARED DIRECTIONS TO EVERY CLASSROOM
Following the whole-school meeting, parents continued with classroom meetings alongside teachers. During these sessions, teachers shared specific information about the School’s academic-year plan, activities throughout the year, and the directions and activities of each class, giving parents a clearer understanding of their children’s learning and experiences in the new school year.
The classroom meetings also provided an opportunity for families and teachers to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and align on how to work together, ensuring that the School’s shared educational directions are consistently carried through in each classroom and in children’s daily lives.

CONNECTING TO HELP CHILDREN GROW
Every child has their own pace of development, personality, and journey. That is why education in the early years requires consistent partnership among the School – Teachers – Families.
With the spirit of “Connecting Through Love,” Sakura hopes that every day at school will be more than a day of learning and play. It will also be a day when children connect, feel heard, explore through meaningful experiences, and gradually grow in confidence.

The 2026–2027 school year has begun. Let’s connect through love and walk alongside Sakura as every child grows in their own unique way.
